Lakeisha Barron-Williams brings over 17 years of dedicated public service to her role as a board member. She is a civil servant and currently serves as a Supervisor with the Department of Social Services of Nassau County, where she has worked extensively with vulnerable populations and families navigating complex life challenges.

She pursued higher education at Stony Brook University and Empire State College, where she studied psychology, deepening her understanding of human behavior, trauma, and the systems that impact individuals in crisis. Her academic background, combined with nearly two decades of hands-on experience in social services, has shaped a compassionate, practical, and client-centered approach to advocacy and support.

Throughout her career, Ms. Barron-Williams has remained committed to service, accountability, and helping individuals move toward stability and self-sufficiency. Her professional experience gives her a strong understanding of community resources, systemic barriers, and the importance of supportive structures for long-term recovery.

As a board member, she is passionate about supporting women on their path to recovery, rebuilding family connections, and creating opportunities for sustainable new beginnings.
